Top 10 Places to visit in Barcelona - 9). Private Guided Tours

9). Private Guided Tours - Introduction

We took a number of private guided tours in Spain and Portugal, and this one was outstanding. We spent a delightful half day touring modernist architectural sites with Begonia. It is extremely knowledgeable and very charming and considerate.

They pick you up at you hotel or City Centre Retreat, and take you to four architectural sites, and, after your tour was finished, drop you at a nice restaurant near the water where we had a good lunch. You can also get some good recommendations on restaurants, other museums and night life, which all turned out to be great advise. While these tours may look expensive, this one was actually a great value because of the ease of getting around in an unfamiliar city, there extensive knowledge of history and architecture, and the chance to see things that a tourist might otherwise miss.

I would definitely use these Tours again if I have the good fortune to return to Barcelona some day.

Tour Itinerary:

La Sagrada Familia – Tapas – Gotico Tour
This private tour will start at the impressive La Sagrada Familia. Millions of tourists visit La Sagrada Familia annually to see how this beautiful Roman church is being built, designed by one of the most brilliant architects that humanity has known, Antoni Gaudi.
Let our guide take you into La Sagrada Familia and take you along the exterior and the inside of the impressive La Sagrada Familia. In addition, our guide will take you to the museum and give you information about the history and construction of La Sagrada Familia through photographs, sketches and plaster models. The guide will also tell you more about the fascinating life and career of Antoni Gaudi.
After your visit of La Sagrada Familia, our guide will take you into the heart of Barcelona, El Barrio Gotico. The charm of El Barrio Gotico lies not only in the history and architectural style of the buildings, but also in the variety of wineries and terraces where you can enjoy a good wine and typical tapas. Our guide will take you to some of Barcelona’s typical tapas and cava restaurants where you can have a break before heading into El Barrio Gotico.
After the tapas-break, our guide will take you into the heart of Barrio Gotico. Let the oldest quarter of Barcelona seduce you with all its secrets…you will surely be surprised. The aim of our tour is that after a guided walk through Barrio Gotico, you not only know the ancient stories that hide the streets we walk, but also get insights and tips for places to go to during the rest of your stay in Barcelona.
